I got a job offer at a Japanese startup for a software engineering role. I was not happy with the salary package and asked for a raise; through an email(when I had the call with the recruiter, she said to just send an official email with my reasoning for why I think I deserve higher compensation).
I sent the email at night, and the next day I woke up to an email saying they couldn't meet my salary expectation and decided to withdraw the offer. Is this common for a japanese company? Just withdraw the offer without asking the candidate first if they would like to proceed with the initial offer?
Anyways, about 12 hours later, I got a message on LinkedIn from the recruiter of the company(I already connected with her before); she is now telling me that if I want the initial offer, she can vouch for me and get things moving forward. What kind of companies is this? Is this normal behavior? Like, I am not sure what to make out of it
