I wonder if they were puzzling over what to do for 2 hours. Or whether they were waiting for the guy with the stun gun to arrive.
Bears are really part of Japanese life now. Something like Canadian moose.
Though this happened last year too, this year has been much more concerning as the bears really have been demonstrating much more concerning behavior due to the lack of food in the mountains and forests for them…
Waiting for the Bear Whisperer.
They need to have planted more oaks and beach trees or other indigenous trees which produce nuts. These abandoned sugi forests are the cause of this. The bears are starving. They dont naturally want to be in these human environments but obviously are desperate and once they know food is in them of course they will return again and again.
Get rid of these dumb sugi forests and restore mountains with indigenous trees which produce food for them
On the bright side it seems that foreigner-blaming is getting a break with all these bear and 3AM meeting scandals.
At least it respected the business hours.
They really need to get the bear visa passed.
If they can create foreign teaching programs like JET, then they can surely afford to create a bear hunting foreigner visa program.
It is a perfect win-win for the government. They can raise the public perception of foreigners that are under such scrutiny by publicizing bear slaying achievements and rankings. Create a 12-month contract (much like teaching), supply a jeep, tent, and remotely shipped boxed food sets on hiking trails around Japan.
Just double the pay of JET contracts, and they will have endless applicants.
The bear just wanted to reserve a Christmas cake and osechi for the New Years holiday.
As a person who follows both r/nfl & r/japan, I got very confused by the title for a moment.
