Second hand mansion(condo) heating floors worth it?

So we bought a 3year second hand mansion 3ldk for around 67sqm.

We havent moved yet and we have no plans for renovation BUT now at our rental apartment im freezing cold already what more on winter 🫣🫣🫣🫣

So im thinking of options for floor heating, we have a toddler so im really not keen to fully carpeting our floors or even buy heated carpet.

The condo is also all electric, no gas.
Any suggestions or advice or maybe your experience with heated floor?

I wonder if there’s cheaper alternative like not fully renovate and just place it on top of the current flooring.

  1. Can’t really give you an alternative, but the floor heating is AMAZING, especially for some one from a tropical country like me.

  2. when i built my house i begrudgingly allowed the designer to install heated floor for the living, dining, and kitchen area, because they said if i ever resold no one would really want it without them. i only wanted the living. after using it, my only regret is not making the covered area even larger. i don’t even need to run the heater and we have a huge LDK. the heated floor uses less energy and heats up the whole LDK. plus makes it nice and cozy when laying on the floor to play with kid and puppy.

edit – i should mention i have hydronic. i think in your case you can only really use the electric one, i could be wrong though. the electric one i know heats up faster, but uses more electricity. in my case i have solar and the solar easily offsets the electricity used in hydronic, but idk if it would keep up with electric.

  3. No gas? That will be very expensive then. Take your current heating and multiply by 3 if you currently have a cheap AC or 5 if you currently have a very good AC. That’s the cost to expect if you heat directly with electricity vs. using AC.
