A little background, I'm a older millennial Japanese expat that lived abroad for most of my life. Japanese is my mother tongue, but at this age I am too embarrassed to ask about this, so internet strangers please help.
Main question is what is the difference between, 化粧水、乳液、クリーム、ローション、etc or what ever products you put in your face. I understand specific benefits like 美白 or 保湿 or what ever, I still don't get what each product does, and more importantly, as a 40+ year old dude that's never had a skin care routine before, where do I start?
Chatgpt says I should use 化粧水 to moisturize and 乳液 to lock in the moisture, but can't cremes or lotions do that too with one application? I am a fairly lazy with ADHD so I want a simple but good skin care routine now that I'm on the older side and I want to keep my appearance good enough for the dating scene. Thanks in advance.
