Hi, I was t r a n s l a t i n g a recipe from tadoku.org to learn some new words but there is a sentence confusing me a lot.

Sentence:

2) ライスぺ—パ—を板や大きいお皿などに置きます。

I did get it intuitively as: "Place the rice paper sheet in a big plate" but the "や" and "など" don't make sense to my silly little brain.

TL;DR: what do や and など have to do here?

I escaped the duolingo trap just recently and am trying to learn grammar and vocabulary decently but grammar resources are hard to find ​😭
