  1. # Is there an extension that can translate/explain grammar sentence structure on websites?[](https://www.reddit.com/r/LearnJapanese/?f=flair_name%3A%22Resources%22)

When I am reading long form posts it takes me too long to put things together to understand. Is there an extension that streamlines, and explains grammar too ?

I use AI but is there something that can be used directly on a website(PC)

I know such learning is discouraged here but sometimes I get frustrated and walk away. 🙁

Why does japanese on website like spotify, reddit, youtube looks squiggly and like 8 bit text but if I zoom in it looks normal.

    zoomed in looks normal.

I have a japanese font installed on firefox and on the whole system. it’s called [GL-NovanticaMinamoto](https://www.freejapanesefont.com/gl-novantiqua-minamoto-free-download/)

  3. Looking for advice on study in the leadup to the jlpt N5 test as a neurodivergent person with strong anxiety, lol.

The jlpt test, at least the one near me though i think they’re all on the same day, is only about 2 and a half weeks away. I’m confident with my kanji knowledge but I need to revise vocab and grammar. And I can’t find any listening test resources. Typically revision isn’t that hard for me. But with the test so close my anxiety has kicked in and my lil neurodiverse brain is trying to find absolutely everything to do that has nothing to do with japanese and I’m struggling to focus. Like, I completely redid my room, moved furniture, built furniture, learnt about 500 words in vr asl in 4 days, got real far in stardew valley, everything except japanese. How do I get back? Lol.

It doesn’t help that whenever i try to tell anyone close to me they respond with something like “oh you’ll easily ace the test, don’t worry” but I’ve been failing practice tests despite knowing the answers I just can’t remember them, need to revise more. Another thing adding to the anxiety is I haven’t heard back yet about my request for disability accommodations during the test.

As far as I’m aware I’m not missing any language resources or anything that would create a gap making study hard. It’s just that the anxiety in the lead up to the test has made it impossible to study which in turn makes the anxiety worse. All my resources are in a format that I can use easily.

So, does anyone have any advice here? Whether it’s advice for the anxiety, or advice for finding motivation, or anything else. Anything is greatly appreciated.

Tldr: anxiety about the n5 test, paired with issues with disabilities, is making it hard to study and I need advice.

  4. i started learning on the first of this month and i honestly forgot how much fun i have with learning especially when i can go at my own pace and not have to deal with ableist teachers that don’t try to actually help me.

I’ve been wanting to learn japanese for most of my life because my uncle used to be stationed there and i wanted to visit before he retired from the army, but i never had the chance. but i finally decided to impulsively pick it up and while my pace and progress are a little weird it really is fun being able to do something for myself even if i don’t have a real “reason” to learn anymore.

i also watch a lot of anime with my friends and these past couple days whenever i notice a word or phrase i learned it feels like my brain is lighting up and it’s fun seeing stuff I’m already learning so early on get used. don’t really have a point to this comment, just wanting to get this out there. but yeah it’s been really nice having something extra to look forward to after work
