  1. Maybe the Chinese government should refund their citizens, since they are using them as economic weapons anyway, may as well pay them.

  2. Cancellation fees exist for **such a reason**. Petty tourists (especially bad ones) now learning the world doesn’t cater to their pissiness.

  3. Just send them the phone number of the Chinese consulate in Japan and ask them for reimbursements.

  4. Yay! Maybe the mountains and onsens won’t be clogged up with people just standing around this year.

  5. Why even make a big fuss over cancellation fees? I thought according to this sub, Japanese people are going to be quite happy as long as Chinese people don’t stay in Japan, or avoid Japan. Just forget about the fees and refund the entire money back as fast as possible.

  6. Watching the news on TV this morning here in Japan. Japanese reporter was interviewing different business owners in Japan suffering from lack of Chinese tourist. All of the businesses owners and workers interviewed were Chinese.

  7. So, with demand plummeting, is Japan going to get even cheaper? Planning to go there on a budget, and if I don’t encounter mainlanders, that’s even better!

  8. And this is precisely why cancellation fees exist.

Fuck these prissy woof warriors for their performative nationalism.

  9. Found out recently that in China you can cancel your hotel booking up until like 5pm the day of for a full refund

  10. Absolutely not. They made the choice, which was not affected by weather or flight cancellations.

  11. Need to find a link to support the hotels by booking a trip. Went last year and LOVE travel to Japan.

  12. Hopefully they all cancel when I’m going next year so there’s less people around.

  13. How people in the comment section go totally medieval whenever this topic comes up is mildly interesting

  14. They canceled their reservations and decided to visit Korea. 😵 I am tired of hearing Chinese much more than my native language at home.
