I've recently moved away from central Tokyo into what feels like almost the boonies (Itabashi, a stone's throw from Saitama), and I decided if I'm going to make the trek into "the city" to see some beautiful Christmas lights, I'd like to make it worth it.
Anyone have any places they make sure to go every year for really gorgeous lights? A decade or more ago, Shinjuku Terrace was a really lovely place to spend an hour or so, wandering through and looking at the lights and decorations, but in the past few years, it's grown dim, both figuratively and literally.
Bonus points if anyone knows places on the western or northern side of things–I love biking in the brisk weather, and Roppongi is just too far after dark if I want to try and be a little more health-conscious rather than taking a train.
