I'm now preparing for my working holiday and need some advice on renting etc.

I'm a foreigner for Taiwan, I just got my visa and passed JLPT N1 recently, now I'm considering to start off my planning with residence, I will like to ask what kind of rental site/app do you use in Japan as a foreigner?

Also, I will like to ask if this logic is correct or not, since I research everything online, I can't really recognize if there is any misinformation or not：
After securing the housing, I can arrive at Japan with my visa, go to the 役所 that is attributed to my district to get my resident registeration and other insurance settle, upon doing that I could get started on my post office account and phone number, after these are done I can finally start living my life in japan and hopefully get a part time job.
