I'm moving to Japan at the end of the year.
I'll be marrying my girlfriend there.
Now I have a question, especially for Germans, but of course married couples in Japan in general are also welcome.
Did you need a birth certificate with an apostille from your foreign side for the Japanese registry office, or was it sufficient without an apostille?
I've heard different things.
It would obviously make everything easier if a translation was enough.
But perhaps an apostille is required.
Some people needed one, others didn't.
What was your experience?
