Heading to Hokkaido soon with my family March 2026 for 10 days! What you guys think? Would love some suggestions hehe.

Day 1 – Arrive in Sapporo
• Arrive in the morning
• Odori Park
• Tanukikoji Shopping Street
• Susukino
• Sapporo TV Tower
• Dinner at Ramen Alley (Ganso Ramen Yokocho)

Day 2 – Sapporo
• Shiroi Koibito Park / Chocolate Factory
• Hokkaido University campus walk
• Shopping (Daimaru, Stellar Place, Pole Town Underground Mall)
• Mt Moiwa Ropeway (night view)

Day 3 – Otaru
• train to Otaru
• Otaru Canal
• Sakaimachi Street
• Kitaichi Glass
• Music Box Museum
• LeTAO cheesecake
• Otaru Sankaku Market
• Return to Sapporo

Day 4 – Noboribetsu
• Day trip to Noboribetsu by train
• Jigokudani Hell Valley
• Oyunuma Pond
• Demon Street (souvenir street)

Day 5 – Rent a Car → Asahiyama Zoo → Furano
• Pick up rental car
• Drive Noboribetsu → Asahiyama Zoo
• Visit Asahiyama Zoo
• Drive to Furano
• Check in a hotel in Furano
• Ningle Terrace

Day 6 – Biei + Furano
• Blue Pond
• Shirahige Waterfall
• Biei Patchwork Road:
• Ken & Mary Tree
• Seven Star Tree
• Mild Seven Hill
• Furano Cheese Factory
• Furano Marche (local snacks, souvenirs)
• Overnight in Furano

Day 7 – Return to Sapporo
• Drive Furano → Sapporo (2.5 hrs) and return car
• Sunagawa SA (rest stop)
• Sapporo Factory Mall
• Nijo Market
• Easy night in Sapporo

Day 8 – Day Trip

Lake Shikotsu
• 1 hr
• Scenic lakeside walks

Day 9 – Last Day in Sapporo
• Final shopping (Tanukikoji / Daimaru / Outlets)

Day 10 – Departure
• Flight back home

  1. Seems fine to me, but for Noboribetsu it seems like you’re not staying there overnight? It’d be a bit of a shame to not stay there. Though I understand it would mess up your plan to rent a car in Sapporo. For the street, don’t have your hopes up by too much, it’s not really long.

    For day 7, I don’t think Nijo market will still be open late if you’re planning to eat there for dinner. Might help to check the hours beforehand.
