Hi everyone,
I’m planning to move to Japan in about 2 years and I’d love to hear opinions from people who already work there or went through a similar path.
Here’s my background:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science
- Post-graduate specialization in Database Engineering
- 6 years of experience as a Database Administrator (DBA)
- Currently studying Japanese in Brazil
- Planning to attend a Japanese language school for 1–2 years in Japan
There’s also a chance I can continue working remotely for my current company in Brazil during that period, which means I would keep gaining experience and also have some income while studying in Japan.
My main questions are:
With my current profile, is it realistic for Japanese companies to hire me directly after I finish language school assuming I reach N3/N2
Or would it be better to enroll in a Senmon Gakkou in the IT field, to gain a Japanese diploma and improve my chances of getting a job?
I’m trying to understand what path gives the best employability for foreign IT professionals with previous experience.
