Hi! I'm heading home for Christmas (USA) and have a residence card. I've filled out the special reentry card before and know I need to do that after security and before immigration.
I'm reentering Japan on the 1st with my flight landing 15:20 at HND, no checked bags, just one carry on and personal. My question is how much time should I allot for customs/immigration if I have a residence card? I don't think I will be joining the general visitors line at HND, so how much time will it take me to exit the airport?
I have to book my shinkansen back home and because of New Year's, almost all trains are reserved seats. Getting to Tokyo station takes around 30 minutes. I was thinking of booking my train for 17:45-18:00, so please let me know if this is possible or if an earlier/later booking is better.
Also, if anyone has any tips on how to clear HND faster (besides speed walking) or tell me what the reenty procedure is like with a residence card there, that would be great! Thank you!
