[Spoilers] World Tag League 2025: Night Four (11/25) – B Block

Wolf watch: absent

Gedo, Gabe Kidd, Yota Tsuji def Yoshinobu Kanemaru, Chase Owens, Yujiro Takahashi — (5:03, roll up)

  • Gabe calls out former War Dog (in retrospect it was really funny that they shoved Chase into War Dogs for only three months) Chase to start, which he does. It is in fact a rare fully clean HoT match start.

  • HoT Shenanigans level: mild.

  • Post match, Gabe and Tsuji talk a little shit from in the ring to HoT on the outside.

Shoma Kato, Shuji Ishikawa, El Desperado def Masatora Yasuda, Satoshi Kojima, Taichi — (7:42, Double Powerbomb)

  • In between his last match and now, Yasuda has earned the right to wear kneepads. His left knee is still taped up, as is Despe’s back.

  • Despe calls out former Suzukigun comrade Taichi to start.

  • This was fine.

  • Post match, Shuji and Kojima keep brawling on the outside, until Kato followed by a couple other YL go over to separate them.

  • Meanwhile in the ring, Despe and Taichi have a respectful face off, and shake hands.

  • Koji and Shuji join them, and there’s a little bit of tension that Despe and Taichi diffuse before everyone leaves.

  • (It was during this match that I noticed the signs in this arena are written in fucking Papyrus.)

Dick Togo, Don Fale, EVIL def Daiki Nagai, Drilla Moloney, Shingo Takagi — (4:48, Grenade)

  • The House wait until the entrances are over and everyone’s getting ready to start to attack. Dick keeps Nagai in the ring.

  • HoT Shenanigans level: light-moderate. Dick-to-dick didn’t finish Nagai but it got him close.

  • Post match, Hot mockingly clasp their hands and bow to Shingo.

Katsuya Murashima, Boltin Oleg, Toru Yano def Tatsuya Matsumoto, Bishamon (YOSHI-HASHI, Hirooki Goto) — (5:06, Boston Crab)

  • Yano calls out YH to start, and gets it.

  • Another perfectly fine little match.

WTL 2025 B Block: Callum Newman, Great-O-Khan[w/JAY] (0 points) def Monster Sauce (Alex Zayne, Lance Archer) (2 points) (point totals prior to today’s results) — (9:01, Foot Stomp)

  • Zayne does a little comedy with ref Sakamoto before starting with Callum.

  • The finish was GOK distracting the ref, which allows JAY to trip up Zayne and Callum could take advantage. So we are finally firmly in heel UE territory.

  • Post match, Archer helps Zayne up and out of the ring.

  • GOK and Callum get their hands raised, but then GOK promptly leaves while Callum and JAY linger for a bit.

  • Next Block Matches (28th): Callum/GOK vs Shota/Yuya, Monster Sauce vs Fin/Hiromu

WTL 2025 B Block: Hiromu Takahashi, David Finlay[w/Gedo] (2 points) def El Phantasmo, Hiroshi Tanahashi (0 points) — (15:42, rolling cradle)

  • Hiromu waits at the railing so he can chat with Finlay, they once again appear to make up for Fin’s nonconsensual throwing.

  • Post entrances, Tana and ELP as usual do some comedy; this time involving bellybutton kisses. Then Tana elects to start, as does Finlay.

  • This was pretty good. At one point when Hiromu was in with Tana, he yelled at Tana that “you can’t beat Okada wrestling like this.” I think that’s the kind of taunting that may get Hiromu what he’s looking for (a singles with Tana).

  • Interesting finish where ELP and Finlay trading cradles turned into them just rolling around and Hiromu came over and stopped the white boy ball with Finlay on top.

  • Post match, Finlay and Hiromu argue when you’d really think Finlay would be happy for the help. Meanwhile ELP and Tana sulk and slink away.

  • Finlay is now the second person in the tournament to pin the TV Champ.

  • Next Block Matches (28th): Finlay/Hiromu vs Monster Sauce, Tana/ELP vs K.O.B

WTL 2025 B Block: SANADA[beach day version], Ren Narita (0 points) def Knock Out Brothers (OSKAR, Yuto-Ice) (0 points) — (16:22, Hell’s Guillotine)

  • K.O.B run out the curtain to start brawling with HoT. After a brief ringside brawl, Yuto brings Ren into the ring.

  • HoT Shenanigans level: moderate-high. Kanemaru showed up but his first attempt at interference backfired. However a couple minutes later the whiskey must hit its target (OSKAR), and was followed up by a guitar shot then Hell’s Guillotine for the extremely dirty win because OSKAR wasn’t even legal.

  • Bomboclaat level: 0.5

  • This was actually pretty good for a HoT match, Ren did a lot more actual wrestling than usual and is pairs very well with Yuto (and OSKAR in a different way; that he gets to take crazy bumps for the big man).

  • Next Block Matches: Ren/SANADA vs Zack/Oiwa, K.O.B vs Tana/ELP

WTL 2025 B Block: Ryohei Oiwa, Zack Sabre Jr.[w/Hartley Jackson] (2 points) def Yuya Uemura, Shota Umino (2 points) — (23:38, Jackknife pin [after THE GRIP])

  • Yuya and Shota come out of the curtain in sync; but then Yuya, who’s more overtly playing to the fans, gets out in front.

  • After the entrances, Yuya and Shota step up to TMDK. Yuya and Zack decide to start; which elicits a decent Yuya chant from the crowd.

  • If you’re familiar with these guys you would expect this to be really fucking good. It was really fucking good. Yuya and Shota may not be completely in sync outside the ring, but they’re still working well together in it. However Zack and Oiwa are in sync in both aspects, and that won out here.

  • Post match, after recovering Zack briefly goes to stand over the fallen Shota and look disapprovingly down at him.

  • The YL help Shota out of the ring and to the back, Yuya lingers back for a moment.

  • Oiwa gets a mic: “With that, TMDK are 2-0! Uemura-san, Umino-san we won tonight, but I want you to still be an obstacle for me to overcome. Let's go again. [Shota has sat on the floor so he can kind of acknowledge Oiwa, Yuya does not turn around at all, but stops when he gets to Shota. Shota reaches a hand up to him twice, but Yuya doesn’t help him.] And Tenzan [on Japanese commentary], I was your Young Lion attendant in the past, and I'm happy that you're here to see how I've come along. Thanks for the Tenzan Suplex. We will win World Tag League and come back with the trophies! Now listen to Zack!”

  • Zack, in Japanese thanks the crowd for the show. “TMDK are red hot and our new team name is the [in English] Chin and the Mullet, [a couple offhand cheeky lines about Oiwa before switching back to Japanese] we are the WTL winners, we are [English] The Mighty Don’t Kneel. Cheers.”

  • Next Block Matches: Shota/Yuya vs Callum/GOK, Zack/Oiwa vs Ren/SANADA
