What is the best website / way for a foreigner to search for apartments to rent. My Japanese is quite poor and I have used websites like realestate.co.jp as well as local real estate agents.
For local real estate agents, the challenge is the language. While I have been able to get around and view apartments, a lot of the contracts are in complete Japanese.
For realestate.co.jp I find that some of the agencies charge exorbitant fees for moving in.
Please advise on how you went about searching for an apartment and if you have any tips for me to make my search smoother.
Currently, I am living in Saitama and working in Tokyo (Asakusa / Sumida area). I am open to living anywhere as long as there is good transport connections.
