[Spoilers] World Tag League 2025: Night Three (11/24) – A Block

Wolf watch: absent

Jakob Austin Young, Callum Newman, Great-O-Khan def Zane Jay, Monster Sauce (Alex Zayne, Lance Archer) — (7:01, Foot Stomp)

  • Post-entrances Archer calls out GOK, who after a moment steps up and the get ready to start.

  • But before they can, the rest of the teammates all come in for a brief brawl. (It kind of looked like the faces were the ones to come in first, but I doubt that was intended.)

  • Post match, GOK is on the outside with Zayne in the Claw until Archer comes and saves him. Very brief scuffle before GOK just gets back in the ring; the faces talk a little shit before leaving.

  • GOK leaves right after their victory announcement, not waiting for the rest of the group.

Jado, El Phantasmo, Hiroshi Tanahashi def Gedo, Hiromu Takahashi, David Finlay — (6:55, Texas Clover Hold)

  • Hiromu has forgiven Finlay for the events of our last show (Finlay using him as a weapon) enough to be friendly with him here.

  • Tana comes out in his LED shades today, and does the arm taunt with ELP along to their music.

  • During ELP’s entrance announcement, Finlay throws his shirt at him and it lands right on ELP’s head, who then tosses it out to the fans.

  • Tana and ELP then do another ab comparison, and ELP tries to rope Jado into it. He successfully gats the crowd to chant for Jado; but then Finlay interrupts and tries to get a Gedo chant going. They go back and forth with this until ELP decides that Jado is more over so should start the match, then he gets the crowd to chant for Gedo enough that he starts instead of Finlay.

  • Fine enough, but skippable as long as you watch the upcoming tourney match. Finish was simultaneous Clover Holds.

  • Post match, Tana goes over to chat with Hiromu; who wants a singles but only if Tana proposes it.

  • Hiromu and Finlay then meet on the outside and argue with each other about who tapped out, before again making up enough to leave together. Gedo just kind of disappeared and thus didn’t leave with them.

Yoshinobu Kanemaru, SANADA[t-shirt version], Ren Narita def Daiki Nagai, Knock Out Brothers (OSKAR, Yuto-Ice) — (7:33, Boston Crab)

  • HoT attack right at the end of K.O.B’s entrances. SANADA and Yuto stay in the ring; SANADA gets hold of Yuto’s chain and threatens to hit him with it, but is thwarted.

  • HoT Shenanigans level: moderate. Extended outside brawl into the crowd, a couple different weapons, and OSKAR got hit in the schnitzel three times.

  • Post match, Ren takes a couple cheap push-up shots in on K.O.B. Then he gets in the ring to celebrate but then promptly leaves when Yuto charges in.

  • HoT and a chair gang up on Yuto on the outside, then OSKAR starts running at them and the House scurry away. OSKAR grabs SANADA’s guitar as he passes by and he and Yuto Chase HoT through the curtain.

Hartley Jackson, Ryohei Oiwa, Zack Sabre Jr. def Shoma Kato, Yuya Uemura, Shota Umino — (7:36, Death Valley Bomb)

  • Yuya and Shota are notably a little less friendly during their entrance, and neither do very much fanservice.

  • After the entrances Zack starts talking a little shit from the corner, Shota steps up to start against Oiwa.

  • Another perfectly fine one. Yuya and Shota got on the same page for the match.

  • Post match, Shota and Zack get in each other’s faces and talk some trash on the outside; Oiwa briefly has a staredown with Yuya from inside the ring.

  • When leaving, Shota and Yuya don’t get buddy-buddy but also aren’t as distant as twin other factionmates in an earlier match.

WTL 2025 A Block: Bishamon (YOSHI-HASHI, Hirooki Goto) (0 points) def Chase Owens, Yujiro Takahashi (0 points) (point totals prior to today’s results) — (11:49, Shoto)

  • Matsumoto is again in Bishamon’s corner wearing a Goto shirt, though he didn’t come out with them.

  • As they’re getting ready to start, Chase goes over and takes a shove at Goto; they separate to officially start. Yujiro comes in for double teams within a minute or so.

  • HoT Shenanigans level: low.

  • Next Block Matches (26th): Bishamon vs Yano/Oleg, Yuj/Chase vs Tsuji/Gabe

WTL 2025 A Block: Boltin Oleg, Toru Yano (2 points) def Satoshi Kojima, Taichi (2 points) — (11:01, Kamikaze)

  • Same right shoulder and knee tape for Boltin.

  • Taichi wants to start with Yano, and after some encouragement from the crowd he gets it… no, before they can lock up Taichi tags out to Kojima. Yano teases he’ll stay in, but then tags out to Boltin.

  • On commentary, Lance Archer let’s skip that Ishii’s getting surgery for his shoulder injury. If that’s true he won’t be back for quite a while.

  • Pretty good. Not a ton of Yanoing.

  • A tiny bit of miscommunication between Taichi and Kojima led to the finish, so post match Taichi was quite cold to Koji.

  • Next Block Matches: Yano/Oleg vs Bishamon, Taichi/Koji vs Despe/Shuji

WTL 2025 A Block: Shuji Ishikawa, El Desperado (0 points) def War Dragons (Drilla Moloney, Shingo Takagi) (2 points) — (14:52, Giant Slam)

  • Despe’s lower back is still taped up.

  • Drilla and Shingo call out Shuji to start, who obliges. Shingo starts for WD.

  • Quite good.

  • Post match, Despe and Ishikawa hug and celebrate together. After their victory announcement, Shingo comes in and briefly gets in Shuji’s face.

  • Next Block Matches: Despe/Shuji vs Taichi/Koji, War Dragons vs EVIL/Fale

WTL 2025 A Block: Gabe Kidd, Yota Tsuji (0 points) def Don Fale, EVIL[w/Dick Togo] (2 points) — (13:58, WAR BLASTER)

  • Tsuji and Gabe stop at the end of the ramp to try and get the jump on HoT, but when they slide in the ring the House slide out. Abe gets through two words of their Gabe’s entrance before he and Tsuji slide out to successfully attack HoT.

  • This leads to a long outside brawl that EVIL brings a steel chair into. Eventually EVIL brings Gabe in to officially start.

  • HoT Shenanigans level: mid-high. Among lots of other things, successful Dick-to-dick on Gabe.

  • However the 1-2 minute ending stretch was clean, and featured a new tag finisher where Tsuji hits Gene Blast while Gabe hits a spinning rebound lariat.

  • Tsuji and Gabe celebrate. Gabe cuts a brief promo in English (that I kind of hated). Then he passes the mic to Tsuji.

  • Tsuji still has a slightly raspy voice, which he’s kayfabe blamed on the Pumping Bomber he took in their first tourney match (may also be the legit cause). He explains that to the crowd and then says that because he can’t yell he’ll have to ask Gabe to do his catchphrase for him.

  • He passes the mic back to Gabe, who in Japanese jokingly calls him “Yota Honma” and lays down to get hit with a kokeshi (which Tsuji playfully starts to do but then Gabe just stands up).

  • Gabe switches back to English to finish us off with a slightly better promo. “Shin-nihon ichiban, i-jo!”

  • Next Block Matches: Tsuji/Gabe vs Chase/Yuj, EVIL/Fale vs War Dragons
