Are you supposed to keep the insulated bags online grocery is delivered in?

I ordered some groceries from Amazon Life, and it said I'd have to accept the delivery in person, so I was ready when I got a call that it's here.
But they just asked me if they can leave it at the drop-off counter in our building's entrance, and I said sure.

What they left me were 3 large gray insulated bags, without any labels or my name on it, except for a QR-code which I'm guessing is there for them to scan while delivering.

One of the bags had an ever-so-slightly smaller bag inside, so now I have 4 of them. One also came with 2 ice packs.

It seems a bit much for a thanks-for-shopping-with-us freebie, so I'm assuming they were supposed to hand me the groceries and take the bags with them? Right?
Or do they expect you to order again so you can return it during the next delivery? I'm not really planning to order again anytime soon, I just needed some sour cream and none of 3 places I checked nearby me had any.

I guess they're the right size for some improvised trash bins. I've been meaning to buy one or two.
But I'm wondering what's up since it's been like 10 years since I last got groceries online.
