I’m living in Tokyo for a bit and was looking to get a custom tattoo, about 2-3in across in either direction with minor shading and a bit of color. Here’s the problem: my Japanese is,, well, not great.
I found an artist who is visiting here from the UK with a cute art style and decided to inquire about a quote. She quoted me at 50,000¥!
Is this a normal price for a tattoo custom? If not, can anyone recommend a cheaper place that speaks good English? Desperately looking for advice because otherwise I would totally drop $320USD on a tattoo without even thinking about it.
For reference, all of my previous tattoos were done in the US and were either really cheap or free. They don’t look that great. This would be my first time getting a custom from a professional so I’m not sure what to expect.
