1. As to be expected consumers are baulking at paying such ridiculously high prices. The new 米大臣 + his JA cohort have overplayed their hands.

7. A Japanese woman told me her husband is now in Germany and he saw Japanese rice in a supermarket, 5kg for 19,99€. Cheaper than in Japan. Because, there is competition. Rice from the US, Vietnam, Thailand, etc.
