Japan Student Visa, No Financial Docs Needed With COE?

Hi everyone,

I’m applying for a Japan student visa from Pakistan as a 6-month research student, and I already have my Certificate of Eligibility (COE).

I checked both the Japanese Embassy and MOFA guidelines, and they only list:

• Passport
• Visa application form
• Photo
• COE (printed or electronic)

There’s no mention of any financial documents (bank statements, sponsor proof, etc.) and Academic documents (degree + transcript) when applying with a COE.

For anyone who applied recently with a COE:
Did you only submit these documents, or were financial documents still required at VFS?

Just want to confirm before I submit. Thanks!
