Arteria internet, apartment networking management

Next year, we’re moving to a new house that already has an Arteria 1Gbps internet connection. When I visited, I noticed there’s an old Buffalo 10/100 switch, which limits the speed to 100Mbps, so I’ll need to upgrade it.

My main question is about distributing the internet throughout the house. In the living room, I plan to connect two PCs. My initial idea was to buy another router with Wi-Fi, connect it to the wall port, and then connect my two PCs to that router. I asked AI, and it seems the proper setup would be: main switch → wall port → another switch → 2 PCs + Wi-Fi router (in AP mode).

I’d love to hear if anyone has experience with this setup.

Also, regarding Arteria: is it good for gaming? I play a lot of FPS games, so I’m curious how it performs, especially during peak hours.
