My fiance and I have the stereotypical language class to lovers story. She lives in Japan and I am in America. We've been doing remote lessons together twice a week for about a year and a half. I've been researching spouse visas with my fiance and we have pretty much everything we need except she noticed there was a requirement for photos of the couple together. I went to Japan a few months ago, which was our first time meeting in person. We took some pictures together, but apparently they want 5-10 photos together on different days, which we don't have.
Has anyone had this prevent them from receiving a visa? Do I need to fly back to Japan before we get married just to take more photos together? We're consulting an immigration lawyer next week, but I was curious if anyone else here had experience with this.
