



Even without the large fat strips, the marbling itself already makes the fish taste buttery smooth. Very fatty tuna indeed lol.
I have been to many expensive izakaya from Toronto, and quite a few in Japan, but this still comes up on top.
This is from the tsukiji fish market in Tokyo, where they sell the fish they just caught to the local restaurants, and most of the market close down around noon. (I went around 7am for the past few days). There are fancy restaurants within the market, but I’ve found these “food stand” style shops offer the best quality of fish (despite the usually sloppy knife work lol). You see what you getting and not a picture of it from the menu
