Any tips for Joya no Kane and Hatsumode?

I'll be in Kyoto for the new year. My plan is Joya no Kane at Chion in Temple and Hatsumode at Fushimi Inari(Yes, I know it'll be packed).

My plan is almost going sleepless because the bell ringing ceremony is 12:00 am and I plan to return back to my stay for a short nap which is 1.2km from the Chion in temple and visit Fushimi Inari early morning by leaving at 5am.

Any tips on what I shouldn't miss?

Ps. I'll be traveling by train in the early morning. In Google maps when I set the date and time it's showing a train at 5.20am with a travel time of 20 mins. Will the new year affect the timings?
