Japanese & non Japanese couple, how did you name your child’s last name?

My Japanese wife is going to give a birth for our first child.
I’m non Japanese, from South East Asian background.
I have checked from past posts, it seems most people advise to give Japanese last name to avoid bully, discrimination, and having kanji will also makes things easier for administration paperwork.
Also, the fact that when the child is born they will take whichever last name your wife has since I’m not Japanese.
My parents were kind of upset why I don’t intend to give my last name to our child.
Also, I have found out from older posts mentioned that they do not recommend to give middle name.
Curious to know from others who went through something similar.

I live in Tokyo, and after we got married, we keep each our own family name.
