I’m planning on proposing in Okinawa under cherry blossoms at Nakijin Ruins. Could you look at my plan and provide feedback, please?

Hi, all!

Thanks in advance for any advice or pointers you can give!

• Arriving in Naha on Feb 3, 2026.
• Renting a car from Toyota (I’ll have my NJ USA driver’s license and an IDP from AAA).
• will go to Nakijin Castle ruins at dawn-ish on Feb 4.
• come to the stone walkway with cherry blossoms on both sides (https://www.britadventures.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/01/nakijin-cherry-blossoms-2.jpg.webp)
• propose there
• explore Nakijin for a bit
• drive to Kouri island and go to Heart Rock for photos
• go back to the hotel
• explore Okinawa over the next few days.

Questions I have:
– how is the cherry blossom bloom forecast looking for 2026? How has the weather been so far this December?
– are tripods allowed at Nakijin Ruins? I want to try to get photos, but if they’re not allowed, I’ll try and find an English speaking photographer.
– I’m assuming it should be pretty quiet that early on a weekday, right? Or should I expect a ton of people around?
– is there anywhere else you’d recommend?
– is there a different car rental company you’d recommend? That’s the most commonly recommended one based on my research.
