Apologies if other questions in this vein. Currently on £93k base in UK living with my Japanese wife and 2 small children. My role is fully remote.
I've been offered role in Tokyo paying 11m Yen which is contract (gyomu itaku) though likely to extend indefinitely. They say they'd hope to increase to 12m but obviously not guaranteed.
Obviously this is a significant pay drop but Japan is also considerably cheaper especially when factoring in support for children, and at least to begin with we'd live with my in laws.
Would 11m yen be enough for a family of 4 at least to start with today's prices?
