Hi! My boyfriend/fiancé is Japanese. I want to go to Japan as a tourist and get married there, and I’d like to know if it’s possible to change a tourist visa to a spouse visa while I’m already in Japan.
I can stay in Japan for 90 days without a visa , Is that enough time to do everything? Or would I need to return to Brazil? What documents should I bring with me, and what was the most difficult or complicated part of the process for those who have done it? Even if your information isn’t up to date, I’d still love to hear your experiences, even older ones.
I’ve seen some people on this sub talking about applying for a Change of Status of Residence and also for a COE. Do you apply for both? For only one? Are they two different things but part of the same process? I didn’t quite understand, because everyone says something different.

Meu namorado/noivo é japonês. Eu queria ir ao Japão como turista (sem visto levando em consideração que brasileiro não precisa ) e me casar lá mesmo. Gostaria de saber se, depois de casarmos, é possível solicitar o visto de cônjuge diretamente no Japão, ou se é obrigatório voltar para o Brasil para fazer o processo? Não me refiro a trocar de visto até pq brasileiro que vai como turista não tem um né ? Me refiro a dar entrada em um ! Nessa minha situação posso fazer isso tudo sem precisa voltar pro Brasil ?
