I’m trying to sort out accommodations now.
We are keen on Naha (kokusai-dori, iias mall) as well as Motobu (Aquarium, Yaedake Sakuranomori Park — seems like I might catch Sakura that early?!) and probably Chatan (Zoo, Rycom mall).
Wondering if I shld stay in Naha for 4 nights then Chatan/Onna for 5 nights? Or Motobu? I saw that the Chatan accoms are near American village (which isn’t on my wish list tbh), wondering if those areas are noisier? Between Chatan and Onna which would you recommend? I see that Chatan is a 30min drive from Naha and wonder if i should bother splitting between Naha and Chatan? Shld I choose Onna or Nago instead? I’m having trouble trying to figure this out!
Also re sakura I really wasn’t expecting sakura in Jan so I’m really excited to realise I might hit the dates! Okinawa residents pls hit me up with your favourite Sakura spots. I note there is an event at Yaedake Sakuranomori but based on my experiences in Tokyo, these events are mad crowded and my favourite Sakura spot is actually on a tiny mountain near where I stayed in ibaraki that had little foot traffic.
