I‘ve taken an interest in the JET Program for a while and plan to apply within a couple years, but I was wondering if anyone has ever attended anime events or stores in Japan but ended up seeing one of their students there. Is it awkward?
I know joining the JET means that you have a job teaching students and can’t use JET as an excuse to go party or do whatever you want in Japan while ignoring your work. But I was thinking if there was an ever time I went to an anime event or collab cafe as a JET and ended up seeing one of my students, how would that go?
I haven’t done enough research on the JET experience so I don’t even know if a JET has time for personal hobbies.
