Hey, so I have a car that I brought in Japan but for convince I registered it in my friends name, I didn't have the proper paperwork at the time so this was the easiest option,
So this was last December, he didn't renew his working holiday visa so he isn't a resident anymore. He is with me now visiting for a month, I still have a valid working holiday visa. We were talking about this car situation with some friends and they brought up some very valid points that now has me worried.
If he is no longer a resident of Japan does this mean that the shaken is no longer valid? We are going to get the shaken transfered to my name ASAP here are my concerns
Is the shaken even still valid? Like will I need to get a whole new shaken? Or do you think I can still just transfer the remaing 7 months of shaken into my name.
Also where and how would we go about doing this? I know I'll need a proof of residence and proof of address but will my friend need one also?
Any info you can give me on this topic would be gladly appreciate thanks for reading and thanks for your help 🙏
