Greetings. I'm an amateur photographer traveling to Japan for the second time next year. I'm looking for a polite, non creepy, easy to remember way of complimenting a stranger (on their look/style) before asking if it's ok to take a photo of them.
I know some super basic Japanese and I got the "asking if it's ok to take a photo…" part already but I'd really appreciate your help with the initial compliment or short opening sentence.
I tried ChatGPT and other sources but the results didn't sound very polite or context appropriate so I'm looking for a human input.
