So we are about to move from Okinawa back to Melbourne. We first tried to ship stuff home with kuroneko (black cat transport) but the staff were being extremely picky and made it clear they didn’t want to deal with us.….also it’s really expensive. So we settled on boat shipping with JP Post. After shipping 6 boxes on different days we were shipping a box last night and the supervisor was there. All our stuff is in the Kuroneko boxes, which have a black cat on them. He comes up and does the Japanese ehhhhh taihen thing and says that Aus customs might reject our boxes because there is a cat on them and they might think we are transporting a cat. We told him it’s boat shipping, a cat wouldn’t survive so who would ship a cat in a box?!?! The staff were deliberating for about 15 minutes and finally I said ok, let’s just black the emblem out on the box…..he said that would make it look even more suspicious.
Finally just told him we’ll take the risk since we have sent items with kuroneko in the same boxes without any issues. Tired of dealing with business people that can’t use common sense.
