Japanese resturants and cancellation policy

Hi everyone,

I’m about to book a high-end restaurant in Tokyo for our honeymoon in March, but I’m a bit confused about the cancellation policy and can’t quite figure out what it actually means. One example of the policy is below:

Cancellation Policy
From Jan 19 (3 days prior): 50%
From Jan 20 (2 days prior): 75%
From Jan 21 (1 day prior): 100%

Please note that the cancellation policy is applied based on the date change in JST.
The cancellation policy applies regardless of the reason, including natural disasters, transportation issues, or health conditions.

I assume this mean they charge 50% of the total cost if I cancel three days in advance? And if so, what happens if I cancel earlier than that – for example, one week before our reservation?

The full course for both of us will probably be around 100,000 yen, so I’m quite nervous about making a mistake here. I've tried reaching out to a couple of restaurants but havent gotten an answer yet.

The reservation will be made through Tablecheck
