Aaron Wolf with a potential “shout out” to a legend from NJPW’s past

When Wolf defeated EVIL for the NEVER Title, he did so by putting the traditional Judo-style Triangle Choke (known as the “Sankaku-Jime”) on EVIL, forcing EVIL to pass out.

Shinya Hashimoto, thought by many to be NJPW’s biggest star in terms of box office, used the “Sakaku-Jime” as a submission finisher, pictured above most famously when he used it to defeat Nobuhiko Takada in the Tokyo Dome in 1996.

Would make a lot of sense that Wolf would take some inspiration form Hashimoto, with “Big Hash” also coming from a Judo background (and Karate), as well as Wolf following Hashimoto in being a “thicc destroyer”.
