We will be staying in Tokyo in May at the beginning of our trip and have decided to stay in Ueno. We have already booked our hotel and are staying 5 nights. We liked that it was a bit calmer area and still good connection through the station. We will be going to japan for the first time and staying for 28 nights. At the end of our trip we also stay in Tokyo for 4 nights. We want to experience all sides of Tokyo (as far as possible in one trip) so we thought about staying in Shinjuku or Shibuya. Does anyone have a recommendation on what area of those to stay? I have also looked at hotels in Akasaka-mitsuke because it looks well connected to both shibuya and shinjuku. There are so many different opinions online, lots of people saying shinjuku/shibuya are the best places to stay for first timers and others that sure those are the worst places to stay. We would like to experience some of the nightlife and visit some izakaya and have some drinks and chill but are not interested in going out all night and partying.
Any recommendations inculding hotel recommendations would be nice! We have a budget of around 130eu a night for a 2 person room so nothing too fancy.
