So after going around for 3 years of non stop headache and taking every headache and migraine medications this new doctor told me the most matching symptoms are cerebrospinal fluid leakage and sent me to an more experienced doctor, I'm an international student and was worried about how much would they cost and just wanted to ask anyone who ever had this medical issue how kuch did it cost or does it depend on the hospital?
Thanks in advance.

If you’re low income you can apply for the limit of medical expenses
There was an influencer called Ninjacatgirl (I think?) who had a CSF leak after a spinal tap at a general hospital was botched. She had to fly out to another country to get it fixed, as she couldn’t find any help in Japan. I don’t know her personally but it was a pretty horrible story. Maybe you can reach out to her on social media and ask about her personal experiences.
Have you been checked for Chimari Malformation tho? CSF leak is a pretty extreme scenario.
I checked your post history (sorry) and I see that you saw a neurologist in Japan. I have a different health issue but my experience with a neurologist here was extremely poor.
I mean, sure it’s great for people who come from countries like USA where they have to pay hundreds if not thousands of dollars to get a brain MRI, X-ray and a basic neurological checkup. But there are other neurological problems that don’t always appear in conventional imaging techniques and he gaslit me so badly. I was literally having double vision for a dozen times a day at the time and he told me it’s all in my head and kicked me out of his practice. (Well more like stormed out of his office and came face to face with me in the waiting room, which translates into “if you don’t want to be treated like this again don’t come back”)
So, if you’re not getting anywhere with a doctor, it’s safe to assume it’s about time to find a new one.
There’s also the cap system that helps people like you, you will get a 限度額適用認定証 to ask for a cap for your hospital expenses
