This is an ongoing situation, but I’m curious about something. A used car I just bought (15 years old now) underwent the 24-month inspection in October and the report more or less says it passed with flying colors.
Last week I had my muffler changed at a shop (custom modification; legal) and they mentioned both a preexisting oil leak, coolant leak, and recommended I look into replacing the piping immediately.
What use is the 24-month inspection then? Both issues were marked as 点検良好 but these leaks were not new. I’m curious if there are any other issues now.
