Just wanted to share a small personal milestone I received the postcard today confirming my change of status to a Spouse of Japanese National visa was approved.
The process itself was pretty straightforward, and the postcard just lists the standard items to bring for pickup. Feeling relieved and grateful to have this step done, and now no longer tied to that stupid Instructor Visa.
Posting in case it gives some reassurance to anyone else currently waiting on their application.
Edit: I applied the week before Christmas at the Saitama immigration center near Saitama Shintoshin.
