Hello, ladies in Japan, have some of you had a conversation about getting an allowance from your man?
I’m American, my boyfriend is Chinese, and we both live in Japan. I’m currently a live in nanny, my boyfriend asked me to move in with him recently and we had a conversation about how he is 30, he feels good financially, and he wants kids. I feel I am willing to move in with him but it would require me to quit my current job so I was thinking about the idea of an allowance and how to bring it up to him. I feel certain he would say yes, I’m just not sure how much to ask for, or how to ask for it. I was also wondering if it’s an inappropriate thing to ask before marriage.
How much allowance do you ladies get from your man? Also any advice for or against moving in with him before marriage? I feel it’s not so unusual here in Japan to move in with a boyfriend.
