Are Nikko bus tours better than a self-guided one?

I'm thinking of going on a day trip from Tokyo. So I checked a day tour price on Klook and it was about 8500 yen. This includes visits to the Toshogu Shrine area, Chuzenji Lake and Kegon Falls, but does not include admission fees. The tour departs at 8 am and returns to Tokyo around 18:30~20:00.

The SPACIA X Limited Express round-trip would cost me about 3300 yen. The NIKKO PASS world heritage area would cost me 3000 yen. The bus trip to Kegon Falls from Toshogu is 1150 yen. The bus trip back to Tobu-nikko station is 1250 yen. The total transport cost would be about 8700 yen.

Not much of a difference in cost I guess but feels like it would be less of a hassle compared to the latter option, and I might save some time on transit. What do you think?
