I’ve only been here for the first month of my one year resident visa and we got hit from behind by a car that skidded on ice – okay fine it happens, I’m mad because that’s my newly purchased second hand car not a rental, but the rental insurance company seem to be happy to pay for everything which is much more pleasant than in the UK.
Sadly, I’ve clearly ended up with whiplash and despite having visited a local physiotherapist I’m told since I haven’t been to the hospital about it that’s unlikely to ever be covered. I’ve only been to hospital in the UK semi recently and that was in the back of an ambulance only to sit and wait in A&E for ages anyway to be told to go home.
What sort of process do I need to follow to get treatment for this at a hospital? Do I need to book an appointment or just turn up to a minor injuries department sort of thing? I’m not well versed with medical process in the UK, let alone abroad so any advice on what to keep in mind would be great. I do have a my number card now as well as travel insurance if either of those are recommended.
