Hello, I'm thinking of going to Japan for the first time next year and I need some advice on when to go and how many days to stay in each city.
I was thinking of going in the first two weeks of November or the first two weeks of February.
Originally I was thinking of going in November 2027 but as I would have to wait almost two years so I am thinking of going in February 2027, but my work only allows me to schedule vacations at the end of December and I can only book the first 2 weeks or the last 2 weeks of the month so I won't have much time in advance to book the flights and stays, but I saw today for February 1 to 15 of this year and the prices are not high for what I saw for November of this year (is it because we are closer to the date and they want to fill the flights?)
I don't have anything planned for Japan yet because I'm still trying to see the best time to go, but I had to see some things I would like to do go and see Mount Fuji and going to nara, I also saw another thing I liked to do which is to rent a Nissan skyline and go with a group to drive around the city or mountain, these would be the three things I wanted to do the most while I'm there, of course I also want to see the city of Tokyo and explore the temples, but I'm afraid I don't have enough time to see everything in each city so I don't know if it's worth going to Kyoto and Osaka, how many days do you think it would be better to stay at each city? I was thinking maybe staying 6 days in tokyo with one of the days going to see Mount Fuji and 3 days in Osaka and another 3 days in Kyoto and one of the days in Osaka or Kyoto go see Nara.
I live in Portugal and I have to take a flight to another country and then go to Japan, by the flights I saw if I go on the 1st I arrive in Japan on the 2nd and in Japan I can return on the 15th and also arrive on the 15th in Portugal so assuming that I can arrive late to Japan on the 2nd to plan the trip I take that day and start on the 3rd having 12 full days to see japan and if I have time on the 2nd I explore the city a little, I would also appreciate if you have any tips on how the connections work, when I have time to have between them taking into account that I have to go check the passport to be able to fly outside Europe.
Thank you for the help and I’m sorry for the long text but is my first time flight outside of Europe so I don’t know how connections work and how long it takes with the passport, also I’m afraid of wasting time by not having a plan and don’t make the most out of the trip
