visited Ine Bay in Kyoto last November and it was absolutely stunning!
the houses you see are called Funaya and were historically used as boat houses/store houses of the fisherman in the area.
Would highly recommend a visit, especially if you are able to make the drive.
Cheers

Did you rent a car ?
Great photos, but please don’t urge people to visit.
Ine is being overrun by tourists, drawn by Instagram and TikTok, and is overwhelmed.
Local residents complain about tourists sitting on their doorsteps to eat, leaving rubbish around the place, being noisy and how it’s difficult to leave their own houses, particularly on weekends.

Ironically, the search for “authenticity” leads people to focus on places like Ine and overwhelming them.
Nice work, I especially like number two and three.
