Hi,
I’m an Electrician working at a small construction Japanese company in Tokyo. I got into an accident by falling off a ladder while working, injured my left ankle badly and had to take 2 weeks off work to heal, luckily it was a week before the お盆休み. Long story short, company told me to not report the accident at work when I go to the hospital which I did. But after a couple month the injury was not healing well and now it’s a world of pain when I have to go to work early in morning and return home late at night. I told the company that it’s not healing and I need to use the 労災保険 to pay off my further treatment. Ofcourse the company said no, so I went directly to the 労災保険局所 for advice. They told me to apply for it regarding the company willing to give me a report of the accident or not. After I personally reported it, the company had to give in and I got my insurance. But I think I got hated by the company now, didn’t invite me to any social gathering like 忘年会, also told me that my injury made me work slower so they’ll halve my 得意手当 which is a fix sum for 固定残業. At this point I think I either look for a new job that doesn’t aggravate my injury or voluntarily quit and apply for welfare. I heard that if I choose the 2nd option it will be impossible to apply for PR in the future because they will look up my record of receiving welfare. My question is am I already cooked? Cuz I was using the public welfare insurance for treatment, not private one. Anyone has any advice for my case?
Thank you for reading.
Edit: I forgot to mention that my working contract is 正社員. My visa status is 技術・人文知識 till 2028
