Is anyone else not into this new faction at all? I will probably eat my words and be wearing an unbound co t-shirt in a year, but right now the faction feels like "edgy hontai"
Yes, at first the wacky pairings were fun, but now that its apparently permanent, it's weird. At least for me.
After watching BC and LIJ fight each other for a decade, it just feels so unnatural. I was able to make sense of their "alliance" as a temporary measure, but how in the world can the war dogs (in kayfabe) seriously justify just rolling over for Tsuji and letting him take control?
This is, of course, especially true for Finlay. Again I'm speaking strictly in kayfabe terms. I'm sure in real life the guy has no problem with whatever creative direction they choose to take. But the "character" david finlay? How can he even show his face to the rest of the war dogs or the entire NJPW locker room? A major part of his shtick for the past 3 years has been I am the leader of Bullet Club!! Respect me!! – It just makes no sense for that guy to shrug his shoulders and say whatever when Tsuji (the guy who took his global title) of all people says "yeah, we're a new group now"
I'm also very aware that perhaps this change isn't necessarily by choice for NJPW. If the rumors are true and Finlay, Kidd, Connors, and Hiromu are on their way out then this makes a bit more sense. I can see Drilla, Ishimori, and Gedo gelling reasonably well with everyone else.
Also, the first google result I get when searching for "unbound company" is "unbound inc." – a sexual wellness company, so that's not ideal…
