I need advice on a good location for my next trip! My last visit I did Kyoto, Kinosaki Onsen, Osaka and Tokyo.
My plan this time is Tokyo, plus one other place. I’m planning on going for 9 days in middle of April. Probably 4 or 5 days in Tokyo and 4 days in another location.
On my last trip I LOVED Kyoto, however I avoided all “popular” places. My highlight of the whole trip was a hike between Takeo and Hozukyo and I really enjoyed the botanical gardens. Kinosaki Onsen was also great, but I found the one night stay too much travelling.
I’m hoping for a suggestion for a location in Japan that might have some hiking (more town to town rather than hauling up a mountain on a suffer session) combined with some tattoo friendly Onsen? I thought about Beppu maybe but I’m not sure how much there is to do there other than the Onsen.
