*Edit: I just received it. It’s a rejection letter. Reason for rejection: “In light of your past residence record, you are not deemed to meet the requirements of Article 22, Paragraph 2 of the Immigration Control and Refugee Recognition Act.” I literally can’t believe this. What the fuck. *
So, like 20 minutes after I left today, they delivered a missed delivery notice to my mailbox from the regional immigration bureau for my jurisdiction. I rescheduled it for tonight, so now I’m just waiting for it (7:00 PM-9:00 PM). But literally everything I saw online about receiving registered mail from the immigration bureau means it’s a rejection letter.
I was assuming it might be a request for additional documents, but apparently even that won’t be registered mail and will just be regular mail delivered to your mailbox. I’m so heartbroken and stressed out now.
I’ve been married to a Japanese person for a little over 5 years, lived in Japan for 9 years, have a 4 year old daughter.. work as a seishain at a huge internationally well-known company franchised by a huge well known Japanese company… have a combined household income of about 7 mil, paid all my taxes and insurance and everything for at least the last 2-3 years (whatever was required for the application was paid on time and I submitted proof of it, never been arrested or anything like that.
If I’m rejected then I don’t know what the fuck they want. I guess they don’t want any foreigners in Japan if there’s something wrong with me being here. I am not trying to brag because I’m not like super rich or whatever but I’m basically just the “model normal resident.”Maybe they’re rejecting me until the price increases so they can milk more money out of me lol
I guess I’ll update when the mail arrives but I’m so crestfallen about this.
