Person in the cinema told me to move and kicked my bag. I’m confused.

So i went to a movie screening today, and was enjoying my time there. Suddenly a Japanese person (I think?) next to me, gets up in a fit, says "どけ!" A few times. I was shocked but quickly moved away. My bag was under my seat, and the person kicked my bag out of the way while leaving. He never came back. A few minutes later, a staff came by my seat and said that someone complained that I was making too much noise while eating? This is my first time hearing this in my whole life living both in this country and back home. I was still in shock for a bit and fearful for a while but luckily I was able to enjoy the rest of the movie.

But i don't understand. Did I do something wrong? I'm not exactly a loud person and I was trying my best to chew with my mouth closed. The man next to me didn't say anything else either, and never came back to his seat. It was a pretty expensive ticket as well. Can anyone explain?
