Road to New Beginning results (Jan. 20th) – Young Lion Cup Semifinals & Jr title defenses

Unless EffingKenta says otherwise, this will be my last post for results, meaning he'll be back for Feb. 1st show.

Young Lion Cup Semifinal: Shoma Kato def. Masatora Yasuda – 6:55 / Fujiwara Armbar

  • Yasuda enters with his new shirt, Kato only has his new towel hanging out the side of his tights.
  • Chris made a bunch of comments on Kato going on excursion oversea sooner, possibly if he wins the YL Cup.
  • This was fine enough. A bit messy at first, however the finish looked pretty cool.
  • Post-Match: Both guys show a bit of respect before Kato immediately leaves. Yasuda lingers on the floor for a bit longer.
  • Shoma Kato advances to the finals.

Young Lion Cup Semifinal: Katsuya Murashima def. Daiki Nagai – 9:19 / Jumping Boston Crab

  • Nagai enters with a towel on his head, Murashima wears his new shirt.
  • Murashima was said to be "Too nice" for the sport, but damn did he show some new aggression here.
  • Nagai kind of reminds me of Gabe Kidd and Yuto-Ice with how charismatic and aggressive he is, and how he pisses off his opponents.
  • Going back to the comments made by Chris earlier, I think either one of these guys could be going to excursion soon too.
  • Honestly, this was pretty fun to watch. These guy's are going to be destined rivals, similar to Fujita and Oiwa back when they were Young Lion's.
  • Post-Match: Nagai pats Murashima on the chest and rolls out of the ring. Murashima celebrates before leaving.
  • Finals: Shoma Kato vs Katsuya Murashima

Knock Out Brothers (Oskar & Yuto-Ice) def. Shota Umino & Tatsuya Matsumoto – 1:26 / KOB

  • Umino does some fan service during his entrance.
  • Yuya accompanies Umino and stay's ringside for the match.
  • Oskar and Yuto blindside Umino to start the match, Matsumoto and Yuto officially start.
  • Post-Match: Umino and Yuya get in the ring and both teams get in each others faces.
  • Upcoming Matches: Knockout Brothers vs Yuya Uemura/Shota Umino (Feb. 11th)

Aaron Wolf, Master Wato, Toru Yano & YOH def. House of Torture (Dick Togo, EVIL, Ren Narita & Yujiro Takahashi) – 9:05 / Straight Armbar

  • Never title is still sprayed gold.
  • The House attacks the face before the bell, ensuing a brawl on the outside before Yano and EVIL slide in the ring.
  • At one point, EVIL rakes the face of Wato and does so right in front of a fan.
  • Narita pulled a spikey object from his tights and poked Wato on the head with it.
  • The usual shenanigans take place, especially since this is basically a rematch from yesterday, just without Douki or Desperado.
  • I really like Wolf's running elbow drop. The snap and execution just satisfies me.
  • Post-Match: The House leaves without further problem. The faces celebrate and leave.
  • Upcoming Matches: Aaron Wolf vs Ren Narita (Feb. 11th)

United Empire (Callum Newman, Fransesco Akira, Great-O-Khan, Jake Lee & Jakob Austin Young) def. Unbound Co. (Gedo, Hiromu Takahashi, Shingo Takagi, Taiji Ishimori & Yota Tsuji) – 11:47 / Face Break Shot

  • The Empire was accompanied by Zane Jay, who is the new Young Lion of United Empire.
  • Shingo looks a little fucked up, with Chris mentioning that he sustained a cracked rib, however he still wanted to wrestle tonight. (I genuinely hope he's okay).
  • Clean start with Tsuji and Lee, and Tsuji just beats the shit out of Lee for the first bit of the match.
  • Gedo gets some payback on Newman, choking him out. The crowd has a short but sweet "Gedo" chant.
  • O-Khan slams Shingo on the apron, Shingo's ribs are taped.
  • Newman throws Gedo on the floor for Zane to stomp out briefly.
  • Hiromu and Ishimori have a bit of rocky teamwork, but get it done.
  • Akira has debuted some new moves, and I'm excited to see him in BOSJ this year.
  • Shingo's injured ribs played a huge part in the later stage in the match. He couldn't do much because of his ribs.
  • O-Khan hits a chair on Shingo's ribs that had another chair laying on top.
  • O-Khan and Newman hold Tsuji back as Jake Lee hits Shingo with the FBS.
  • Post-Match: Tsuji is still held back as Lee takes down all of the Unbound Co., forcing Tsuji to give Lee a title match. Tsuji accepts.
  • Upcoming Matches (Not Confirmed): Akira/? vs Hiromu/Ishimori, Newman vs Finlay, Tsuji vs Lee (confirmed for Feb. 11th), Gabe Kidd vs Andrade

Junior Tag Team Championship: Ichiban Sweet Boys (Kosei Fujita & Robbie Eagles) def. House of Torture (SHO & Yoshinobu Kanemaru) – 16:59 / Thrill Ride

  • The House attacks the Champs before they finished their entrance, ensuing a brawl on the floor before the bell.
  • SHO and Fujita officially start.
  • TMDK are accompanying Ichiban Sweet Boys.
  • At one point, SHO and Kanemaru bend Fujita's spine around the ring post.
  • The crowd was hot for this one.
  • Kanemaru actually worked very well here, hitting a Superplex, Moonsault and a Touch-Out.
  • Fujita thwarts a Whiskey mist attack, and he and Eagles hit a sweet buster before the Ref was pulled out by SHO.
  • Robbie hits a dive on the floor to take out SHO, leaving Kanemaru and Fujita alone in the ring.
  • This was surprisingly fun. Even SHO had some good offense.
  • Post-Match: ISB celebrate and do their regular pose, however Fujita lay's on Robbie's legs, looking exhausted.

Junior Heavyweight Championship: Douki def. El Desperado – 16:30 / Suplex De La Luna

  • If Desperado win's, he would be champion #100
  • Douki is accompanied by a majority of the House (No Fale, Chase, SHO or Kanemaru [yet]).
  • The crowd is loudly telling the rest of the House to get the fuck out of here.
  • Clean start.
  • Douki dodges a dive from Desperado, but Desperado lands in front of the rest of the House.
  • Desperado asks for the House to hit him, as a DQ would give him the title, however Douki blinds the ref with his entrance jacket, ensuing a beatdown on Despe.
  • We get a brawl up in the stands.
  • As soon as Desperado tries to beat the count, Douki blocks the ref and another beatdown ensues.
  • Douki pushes Desperado into the ref, cue the House giving an in-ring beatdown.
  • Enter Aaron Wolf, who demolishes the House. Wato enters next, and the House gets cleared out.
  • SHO enters and stops the ref from seeing the rope break. Desperado counters into Numero Dos just as SHO and Kanemaru leave the apron.
  • SHO and Kanemaru try to pull the ref, but he kicks the ropes and they get kind of scared off.
  • SHO distracts the ref, Douki with the low blow, but Despe thwarts the metal sheet attack from SHO, however Douki hits him on the head with it and lands a daybreak DDT on it.
  • Despe inadvertently takes out the ref, and the finish happens shortly after.
  • Pretty boring for a main event, but that's my opinion.
  • Post-Match: Douki: "You've lost again, but you still have your support because you tried your best, but you couldn't beat me. Now you opened your eyes to the truth, now get out of here. I am the God of the Jr division, and House of Torture is the strongest faction."

Important notes:
